Fort Benton is located on the banks of the Missouri River in the "Golden Triangle" area of North Central Montana. Established in 1846 as an American Fur Company Trading Post, it is one of the oldest communities in Montana.
Fort Benton and the surrounding countryside is a beautiful area to visit. We are the gateway to the Wild and Scenic Upper Missouri River and the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, and only moments away from the Highwood Mountains and Square Butte Recreational Area.
